How God showed concern for the Israelites through the prophet Jeremiah
- God told Jeremiah that he would restore Israel after destruction and forgive them if they repented
- Jeremiah preached that God’s punishment was corrective from which the Israelites were to learn the nature of Yahweh and return to him
- He warned them of the covenant which they had made with Yahweh
- He prophesied about the coming of the messiah from the house of David
- Jeremiah wrote a letter to the first exiles in Babylon giving them hope
- Jeremiah prophesied about a new covenant that God would make with Israel
- Jeremiah bought a piece of land to symbolize restoration
