If it is necessary to deduct the weight of the sling, attach the sling on the scale, press the "TARE/ZERO", then remove the sling, which will now display a negative value. Securely attach the sling to the patient according to safe wearing procedures, connect the sling's strap to the hoist's hook, and lift.
