- WHAT IS FREEZE RELIEF? - My DIY Center Freeze Relief Discharge Line Protector Kit is an essential tool for protecting your sump pump’s discharge line. When a discharge line becomes clogged with dirt, ice, or debris, pressure will build. Then when your sump pump is turned on, water is dumped into the clogged pipe. The massive water pressure and clogged discharge lines will lead to a broken sump pump and a wet basement.
- FREEZING PREVENTION - During the cold months, sump pump discharge lines can freeze because of the low temperatures. Once frozen, the discharge line cannot properly carry water from your home. Luckily, the Freeze Relief allows excess water and pressure to spill out of the pipe instead of building over time. This relief will give you more time to fix the issue and clear any remaining debris in your discharge line.
- EASY TO DIY - Discharge line protector acts as a transition piece between the two pipes. Additionally, the Freeze Relief is compatible with any sump pump with an above-ground 1-½” PVC pipe. Please note that this pipe must connect to a more extensive underground discharge line.
- CHOOSING THE RIGHT KIT - Measure the Outside Diameter of your buried discharge line, this will be the pipe that your freeze relief will flow into. Measure the thickness of the plastic: if the pipe thickness measures about 1/8”, you should use a Schedule 30 Thin Wall Kit; if it’s about 3/4", you will most likely have to use a Schedule 40 Thick Wall Kit.
- EACH KIT COMES WITH - All parts are made from long-lasting, maintenance-free and durable PVC. Each Schedule 30 Kit comes with a 3”-4” adapter.
