Reasons why Christians condemn idleness in society
- Idleness encourages dependence on other people.
- It retards the development of God-given talents/abilities.
- It is seen as disobedience to God’s command for human beings to work.
- It may lead to antisocial activities/crime.
- It can lead to lifestyle diseases/it is unhealthy.
- It leads to poverty/lack of necessities.
- Idleness may lead to conflicts/quarrels/fights among people.
- It is a failure to uphold the image of God as a worker.
