1. (a) Daily maintenance of a tractor includes the following tasks:
   • Check the engine oil using a dipstick and add oil if low.
   • Check the level of the battery electrolyte and add distilled water to cover the plates.
   • Check the fuel level and add if low.
   • Grease all greasing points if necessary using the nipples.
   • Check the fan belt and tighten if loose.
   • Check the water levels in the radiator and add if low; remove any particles if necessary.
   • Check air filters and blow off excessive dust.
   • Check oil baths and change if dirty.
   • Tighten any loose nuts, bolts, and pins.
   • Clean the sediment bowl if clogged.
   • Check tire pressure and inflate to the recommended levels if low. (10 marks)
2. (b) (i) The causal organism of coccidiosis in poultry is Protozoa, specifically Coccidia of Eimeria species. (1 mark)
3. (b) (ii) Apart from poultry, two other animals affected by coccidiosis are:
   • Cattle
   • Sheep (2 marks)
4. (b) (iii) Five symptoms of coccidiosis in poultry are:
   • Diarrhea
   • Dysentery or blood in the droppings
   • Ruffled feathers
   • Dullness with drooping wings
   • Sudden death in birds (5 marks)
5. (b) (iv) Three control measures for coccidiosis in poultry are:
   • Use coccidiostats such as Amprol and Furexol to treat and prevent the disease.
   • Avoid wet, filthy, and unhygienic surroundings.
   • Prevent overcrowding in poultry housing. (3 marks)
