Introduction (6 minutes)

  • Review homework: Check OS function mind maps
  • Pose the key inquiry question
  • Ask: “Why do smartphones use different OS than desktop computers?”
  • Show different devices with different operating systems
  • Introduce the concept of OS classification

Development Activities (29 minutes)

Activity 1: Classification by Number of Tasks (9 minutes)

  • Discuss and classify operating systems according to tasks (single-tasking, multitasking)
