Selected Learning Experiences

Introduction (6 minutes)

• Review homework: Check port identification charts
• Pose the key inquiry question
• Show image/video of incorrectly connected computer (cables forced into wrong ports, tangled wires)
• Ask: “What could go wrong if we don’t follow proper procedures?”
• Brief discussion on safety hazards: electric shock, equipment damage, fire risk, tripping hazards
• Introduce safety as the foundation of computer setup
