Prophet Amos was a significant figure in the Old Testament of the Bible. He was a shepherd and a prophet who lived during the 8th century BC and was chosen by God to deliver His message to the people of Israel. One of the main themes of Amos’ prophecies was the condemnation of idolatry among the people of Israel. In this essay, we will explore the reasons why Prophet Amos strongly condemned idolatry and its consequences for the Israelite society.
