Give seven reasons why prophet Jeremiah condemned the ay the people of Judah. (7 mks)
- They broke the Ten Commandments / disobeyed God’s commandments.
- They were concerned more with external religious observance while their hearts were far from God / practiced hypocrisy.
- They had forgotten God’s saving works in their history and worshipped foreign idols e.g. Baal.
- They practiced syncretism.
- They rejected God’s prophets / listened to false prophets.
- They practiced human sacrifice and so dishonoured the sanctity of life.
- Worship of idols defiled the Holy land.
- Widows were neglected / moral corruption.
- People trusted in gods who could not save them at the time of need / idols futile.
- Idolatry showed lack of knowledge of God / rebellion against God one true God.
