Guidelines
for Using the Volleyball
Timetable
Welcome to the Volleyball Skills Training Timetable! This structured program is designed for learners aged 14 to 18 who are eager to enhance their volleyball skills and knowledge. Over the course of five days, from Monday to Friday, participants will engage in focused training sessions that cover essential aspects of the game, including passing, setting, serving, and teamwork.
Each session lasts one hour and is thoughtfully divided into specific activities aimed at building a solid foundation in volleyball fundamentals. By following this timetable, learners will not only improve their technical abilities but also develop important attributes such as communication, cooperation, and sportsmanship.
The program emphasizes a balanced approach, incorporating warm-up exercises, skill drills, game situations, and cooldown activities to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or an intermediate player aiming to refine your techniques, this timetable provides a clear pathway to achieving your volleyball goals.
Let’s get ready to serve, set, and spike our way to success on the court!
How to use the Timetable:
- Preparation:
- Print or Display: Print the timetable
or display it on a screen accessible to all learners. This ensures
everyone is aware of the daily focus.
- Materials: Ensure that all
necessary equipment (volleyballs, cones, etc.) is available before each
session.
- Daily Sessions:
- Arrive Early: Encourage learners
to arrive a few minutes early to prepare for the session and start
warm-up on time.
- Warm-Up: Always begin with
the warm-up to prevent injuries. Emphasize the importance of dynamic
stretching and light jogging.
- Focus on Skills:
- Skill-Specific Drills: Follow the timetable
strictly to ensure each skill is given adequate time.
- Feedback: Provide constructive
feedback during drills to help learners improve their technique.
- Engagement:
- Encourage Participation: Motivate all
learners to participate actively in drills and games.
- Teamwork: Promote teamwork
during game situations to enhance communication and collaboration on
the court.
- Cool Down and Review:
- Cool Down: Ensure that the
cool-down period is taken seriously, incorporating static stretches to
aid recovery.
- Skill Review: Use the review time
to ask questions and summarize key points from the day’s practice.
Encourage learners to share their thoughts on what they learned.
- Adaptation:
- Flexibility: Be prepared to
adjust the timetable based on the group’s progress and skill
level. If certain skills need more focus, consider extending those
sessions.
- Variety: Introduce new drills
or variations to keep sessions engaging and challenging.
- Weekly Reflection:
- End of Week Review: At the end of each
week, hold a session to review what was learned throughout the week,
highlighting improvements and areas needing further work.
- Parent Involvement:
- Communication: Keep parents
informed about the skills being taught each week, encouraging them to
support their children’s practice at home.
- Coach’s Notes:
- Documentation: Keep notes on each
session’s effectiveness, noting which drills worked well and
which may need adjustments for future sessions.
