Incident concerning the healing of the centurion’s servant
- In this incident, the centurion was a Roman officer who had a very sick servant at the point of death.
- When he heard of Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his servant. The elders went to Jesus and asked him to help the centurion
- Jesus went with them towards the centurion’s house before they reached the house, the centurion sent his friends again to Jesus saying he was not worthy to receive Jesus in his house but he believed in Jesus’ power to heal just by command. Jesus praised such faith coming from a non-Jew
- When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well. The faith of the centurion healed his servant
