- Christians should respect God’s house and use it properly
- God’s temple is holy/pure
- Christians should have the courage to condemn evil practices in the church
- Christians should expect judgment/punishment for their sins
- The church should not be used for material gain but only for the spiritual nourishment of the soul
- The church should avoid exploitative tendencies e.g excessive contributions
- Christians should pay more attention to internal righteousness and not external observance of ritual/doctrines
- The church should be made a house of prayer where one can communicate with God
